Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is delving into science fiction territory with some of its Season 5 conversion kits. The JAK Deathmarch Kit for the BAL-27 turns this assault rifle into a five-round burst laser rifle. Bursts from this weapon have virtually instant projectile speed and deal high damage, but you need to handle the gun's immense recoil to make good use of it.

The good news is that hipfire builds are quite powerful with this BAL variant, and it's fairly easy to create. Let's go over how the JAK Deathmarch Kit works, how to unlock it, and cover the strongest hipfire build you can use on this weapon.

How To Unlock The JAK Deathmarch

The JAK Deathmarch Kit is the Week 6 challenge reward in Season 5. You need to complete any five challenges from the Week 6 challenge set. This can be a mix of challenges from Multiplayer, MWZ, and Warzone.

You'll also need to own the BAL-27 to use the JAK Deathmarch Kit. As with most MW3 weapons, the BAL-27 is tied to Armory Unlocks, requiring five daily challenge completions.

Hipfire JAK Deathmarch Build

The JAK Deathmarch Kit turns the BAL into a shotgun with a pre-charge delay, similar to how fusion rifles work in Destiny. You'll need to hold down the trigger for a short duration before the burst fires, so you'll want to prefire enemies when possible. The good news is that you can charge the gun mid-slide, so we've built this loadout to emphasize sliding as much as possible. The kit also has great hipfire accuracy, so we might as well spec for hipfire play.

We highly recommend you equip the Verdant Hook Box Laser for this build, as it retains most of your accuracy while sliding. Without it, you'll struggle to hit enemies past five meters mid-slide. For hipfire accuracy, we use the Bruen Bastion Angled Grip and Tidal Tac Grip to lower our spread deviation to 1.3 degrees, which is just as accurate as most tac stance builds. We then use the Clarent Light Stock to buff the weapon's mobility and ADS stats.

Loadout Recommendations

The BAL-27 has a fairly long sprint-to-fire delay, so we aim to fix that with the Infantry Vest. Running Sneakers are given for free with this vest, reducing your sprint-to-fire delay when coming out of tactical stance. We also run the Commando Gloves to reduce sprint-to-fire timings in general. We then run Compression Plate for HP regeneration on kills and Tac Mask to resist enemy tactical grenades.

Equipment on this build is dealer's choice. An aggressive playstyle will likely perform best with Stims and the Med Box, giving you options for rapidly healing in combat.
